Soft Tissue Treatment

Soft tissue treatment involves a range of treatments for a variety of soft tissue injuries that are causing pain and restricted movement. Soft tissues include ligaments, tendons, muscles and fascia. Treatment techniques being used include Myofascial Release, Trigger Points, Massage, Stretching, etc.

Treatment Information

Myofascial Release is a manual therapy technique that focuses on pain believed to arise from myofascial tissues — the tough membranes that wrap, connect and support your muscles. These can become tight after injury and can be a source of pain, and the focused manual pressure and stretching used in this treatment can loosen up restricted movement and aid in reducing pain.

Trigger Points are areas of tightness in muscles that are tender when pressure is put on them. With manual application of pressure on these trigger points tenderness can be reduced, pain relieved and range of movement improved.

Massage is very effective in releasing inhibited muscles, preventing injuries, and helping the body to recover over worked muscle. It is also very effective in helping with chronic problems, such as back and neck pain.

Stretching can help improve flexibility and range of motion about your joints. Improved flexibility may: Improve your performance in physical activities; Decrease your risk of injuries; Help your joints move through their full range of motion; Enable your muscles to work most effectively
